Responsibilities:

  • Build ADKS design capacities in early design phases to allow for longer and more potent client trust and relationships.
  • Primary role in art direction of early-phase design projects to deliver innovative and inspiring work on behalf of ADKS’ client and company goals.
  • Focus on early phase design work including BlueSky and concept design phases overseeing work to assure design goals are met as it transitions through latter phase design, production and installation.
  • Represent and deliver art direction of ADKS projects in collaboration with our client partners as well as ADKS internal design, production, and business development teams. Ensure appropriate and responsible choices in support of overall art direction goals and creative quality control.
  • Develop creative briefs and planning based on ideas established in brainstorming sessions.
  • Implementation of art direction intent within design group including collaboration on how those goals are to be achieved within existing project budgets and schedules.
  • Role includes interface with other ADKS departments in the successful implementing of art direction goals for assigned projects including ongoing client interface, review and quality control, and problem solving.
  • Role includes working in support of ADKS business development goals including assisting in the acquisition of new clients and markets, development of appropriate design approach, planning, and scope of service objectives with potential clients.
  • Creation of design documents and artwork directly as well as mentoring, review and planning of work done by other designers and subcontractors.
  • Primary role in quality control in conjunction with ADKS project teams and design management to assure that art direction goals, design and project deliverables are being achieved and that appropriate project standards established by ADKS and its clients are maintained.
  • Work with design management and staff including review, training and mentoring in support of company and client Art Direction goals and standards.
  • Support and develop presentation approaches, styles, and techniques following the ADKS brand for the team to implement. Ensure team adheres to current processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, proposing and creating processes and tools to support design operations.
  • Role is client-facing and has direct responsibility in the building and maintaining of positive client relationships. Individual will be responsible for ideation, pitch, and presentation of new creative concepts on behalf of client as well as direct responsibility in the ownership, improvement, and successful design implementation of client-provided design ideas.
  • Coordination and collaboration with ADKS USA and other divisions as needed
  • Foster a sense of unity, collaboration, and positivity within the ADKS design departments
  • Role will require travel including support of design-sales, brainstorming and charrette sessions, and project art direction needs.
  • Role will report to the Vice President of Design

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in fine art, Theater arts, Architecture, experience design, exhibit design or similar design field or commensurate work experience
  • 4+ years working experience as a designer. With prior art direction experience, a plus
  • Concept and early phase design experience that has been realized in projects, productions and installations.
  • Experience with relevant design software including Adobe creative suite and/or AutoCAD as well as familiarity utilizing digital 3d modelling programs (rhino, skp, and/or Revit preferred). Familiarity in MS office suite including word and excel is necessary. Ability to communicate visually via hand sketching is preferred
  • Strong organizational, planning and interpersonal skills
  • Strong creative vision with abilities to implement
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with clients as well as ADKS management and staff
