Oversee the technical infrastructure of the organization by coordinating, planning, and leading all I.T. activities ensuring the reliable operation of services supporting the company’s core business of custom manufacturing. This includes Microsoft Hosted Office 365, Exchange Server, Outlook, and SQL Server products as well as full suite of AutoDesk products for CAD. Manage all IT operations across all location’s, both domestic and abroad, supervise internal IT staff, and outside suppliers including telecommunications and security partners. Work with the Adirondack Studios management team to identify business and technology needs and optimize the use of information technology. This role reports directly to the company CFO.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
∙ Manage multiple projects simultaneously with varying scopes of work.
∙ Build, deploy & modify new and legacy reports in Excel, Crystal Reports, SQL Reporting Services or web pages and Windows applications.
∙ Maintain and periodically evaluate effectiveness of vendor relationships to ensure outside services satisfy the current and future IT needs of the business.
∙ Maintain and configure daily backup strategies and along with overall disaster planning.
∙ Provide primary user support for all employee support requirements at all locations.
∙ Support and manage all help desk issues, including the escalation chain as needed, and coordinating with outside Vendor(s) support to ensure our internal customers are satisfied.
∙ Purchase software licenses and renew annual maintenance agreements for Office 365, Windows
Server, Windows Desktop, AutoDesk products, Revit, and all other company software applications.
∙ Responsible for the purchase and installation of all servers and client computers and key peripherals and spare parts as necessary.
‐ Responsible for the operation of a centrally managed Antivirus server (McAfee) and it’s AV client running on all company PC’s, both local and remotely connected.
∙ Maintain an inventory of spare desktops and notebooks as needed
‐ Manage ensure malware protection and adequate Windows® patching occurs.
‐ Manage over VLAN Architecture and ability to configure managed switches and Wireless Access Points to allow separation of traffic. Maintain private and public Guest Wifi networks.
∙ Identify and coordinate end user training for role‐specific software as required.
∙ Work closely with senior management to support a variety of internal business essential software reports and initiatives as needed and required.
‐ Install / Maintain IP based security cameras as needed.
∙ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience with the above defined duties and responsibilities.
Bachelor of Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information Systems degree (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 10 years’ experience with Microsoft operating systems and technologies in a VLAN network environment. Self‐motivated and multitasking capabilities are required. Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures, excellent working knowledge of network and systems administration, network security, and databases. Strong critical thinking skills, ability to prioritize, and project management skills needed.
