Adirondack Studios looks to add an energetic and artistic Scenic Paint Lead to our growing team. This team member must be a problem solver and hold proficiency to assist in building themed scenic elements for a variety of entertainment projects including but not limited to Opera, Theme Park, Museum, Public Art and Live Entertainment.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Understand and manage multiple project scopes, constraints, scenic intent, schedule, designated materials and techniques, and all other scenic specific information
- Expert understanding and ability of Theme Painting Techniques. Experience with UV paint preferred
- Ability to read and match paint elevations
- Familiarity with high-performance paints and coatings
- Familiarity with sculpting and texturing with various materials
- Possess the ability to lead a crew professionally and efficiently
- Able to communicate all task requirements to scenic artists
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand multiple project scopes, constraints, scenic intent, schedule, designated materials and techniques, and all other scenic specific information
- Direct and supervise shop personnel, teaching techniques as necessary for the scopes
- Understand and manage the quality of finishes from surface prep to primer through top coat on all scopes
- Work in conjunction with Project managers, Production manager, other Shop leads, the Florida Scenic Manager, and creative design as required
- Evaluate, specify and coordinate color documentation, materials and methodology
- Procure and inventory project materials, tools and equipment, addressing all needs in time so they may be procured prior to affecting productivity
- Submit accurate Purchase Order Requests to purchasing for necessary materials
- Maintaining project documentation, including but not limited to: scenic procedures, creative buy off, material data, and other project documentation for project closeouts
- Report daily to supervisor: percent task completions, anticipated needs, concerns, crew hours and any other relevant information
- Represent Adirondack Studios in Client meetings
- Ability to problem solve
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and professional work environment, showing respect to others and contributing to the team
- Must be comfortable working on ladders and from heights up to 20’
- Submit to any testing & background checks as required
- Care, maintain & return of company equipment in your control
- Perform other tasks as assigned
KNOWLEDGE:
- High school education or G.E.D. and/or one year certificate from college or technical school; or minimum five years related experience and/or training
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- There are physical requirements associated with this position. Work environment is that of a typical production facility
BENEFITS INCLUDE (FULLTIME):
- Vacation Accrual: 4% of hourly compensation accumulated annually, payable in March of each year or within 30 days of end of employment. Accrual begins after initial 1000 hours worked
- Participation in ADK Studios 401K plan following 90 days of employment and then at quarterly enrollment periods
- Health Insurance offered to fulltime employees following a standard waiting period
This position will be located in Orlando Florida, 10 minutes north of Orlando International Airport. Shift is anticipated as Monday – Friday 6:30am – 2:45pm. Occasional overtime as required.
