Adirondack Studios (ADKS) is creating the new position of IT Manager and is seeking qualified candidates to support the transformation of its internal systems and software into an active and interconnected operation befitting a global leader in themed entertainment design and production.

ADKS operates in a Windows environment. Primary software includes Microsoft, Autodesk, and Adobe products with additional specialty software.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the technical infrastructure of the organization by coordinating, planning, and leading all IT activities ensuring the reliable operation of services supporting the company.
  • Manage all domestic IT operations across all locations, as well as remote users, supervising internal IT staff and outside suppliers and partners (add coordinate with international).
  • Work with the Executives and Directors to review and evaluate business and technology needs to implement agrees upon solutions and improvements. This may include Project Management Software, Accounting Software, Estimation Software, and CRM Software.
  • Evaluate and manage the effectiveness of technology related relationships to ensure outside services satisfy the current and future IT needs of the business
  • Evaluate hardware and software contracts to maximize return and benefit to ADKS
  • Oversee and Manage IT budget creation, planning, and spending
  • Ensure exemplary support is provided to company employees
  • Manage collaboration and remote access software such as Microsoft Teams, Splashtop, and VPN while ensuring security and efficiency. Implement additional communication tools as necessary for off-site employees
  • Oversee robust cyber security efforts
  • Provide connectivity, audio, and video support as needed
  • Maintain an inventory of all in use IT equipment
  • Maintain disaster planning strategies to minimize data loss and down time
  • On-call as required to troubleshoot network systems to minimize down time
  • Build Standard Operating Procedures as necessary to maintain continuity and efficiency
  • Travel to domestic locations as required

Support and assist IT Specialist in oversight and management of:

  • Maintaining in-house systems and addressing issues as they arise
  • Specifying and submitting Purchase Orders for new equipment
  • Installing new software and hardware as necessary as well as uninterruptible power supplies
  • Setting up and taking down equipment as needed
  • On-site active directory.
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining printers, copiers, fax machines, telephone system, and Wi-Fi networks
  • Software user licenses and set-up
  • Leases on equipment and evaluating for termination
  • Carrying out file management and archiving as necessary
  • Maintaining accounting software licenses, interfacing with vendor, and installing on PC’s
  • Maintaining spare parts and hardware inventory
  • Reviewing and purchasing all licensed software and maintaining database of users with an aim toward cost effective license strategy.
  • Programming, installing, and maintaining phone system equipment and extensions
  • Training users as appropriate on hardware and software
  • Working in conjunction with third-party IT partner as well as software and hardware providers
  • Oversee third-party IT partner who manages:
  • Help desk issues, including the escalation chain as needed, to ensure ADKS employees are satisfied
  • Network servers and data storage
  • Antivirus, malware protection, and Windows patching software running on all company PC’s and servers
  • Data backups that are accessible for emergency recovery, as well as the continuation of business operations in the event of a natural disaster, ransomware attack, or virus.

This salaried position is in Argyle, New York (1 hour north of Albany and approximately 30 minutes from Saratoga Springs and Glens Falls). Salary range is 80k – 120k
